Tindomul1of9,
I was reading the link you posted, is scale something left behind from a bug, or is it a bug? Is this black stuff a fungus and would fungus cause the sap as well as a bugs? Is it safe to use the stuff the link mentioned at the normal ratio for other plants without harming the orchid?

I would dilute a bit more, Im not sure by how much though.
Scale is the bug itself.
Black stuff is usually either a fungus or rot caused by a fungus. Im not sure what you mean by black stuff?

Some of my plants are at work with me. I don't have my camera with me right now or I would take pictures. I will grab my camera tomorrow and post some pictures for you to look at. Is it easy to post pictures and have them linked to this conversation? I have never tried it before.

Thanks,
Becca

Default Here are some of my pics!

Okay I hope this works. I uploaded some pictures of the plant I am having issues with but I had to manually resize the pictures. I am not so sure the pictures will work, in the preview, it looks as thought part of the pictures have been cut off and the pictures are a lot lighter in color. I think I may have to retry the pictures at another time. Is there a way to link gallery pictures to this post? Any thoughts, opinions, and advice will be most appreciated! Am I just over reacting on my plant? I just don't want to spread anything to my other plants! Thanks everyone!

Default Retrying pictures again

Okay, I down loaded a tool to resize the pictures, what a big help. Here are a few pictures of the plant I am concerned about. Any opinions are most welcome!

I found similar spots on my cym, but the new growths are fine. I don't know what causes it and hope that someone here can explain it.

I don't think it is serious and the plant will live fine.

It could have been some fungus or something. Maybe from water sitting on the leaves and not drying soon enough.

I do have the same problem with few plants, but I don't think it is something serious. I don't treat those areas and they don't get larger either.
