Hi KT, Where in Pa. are you. Parkside Orchids is in Ottsville(little south of Allentown). Also, next weekend Longwood gardens is having an Orchid show with lot's of the vendors mentioned above attending. While the pictures on the web sites are enticing, there's nothing like seeing the plant live. Just make sure you take ONLY the money you want to spend!!

I second Longwood, it is the best place on the East Coast to get orchids! International Orchid Show & Sale 2010 - Events - Longwood Gardens

As far as where you order from, the distance has a lot to do with how the vendor packs...the absolute best packing I have ever seen was from Kawamoto in Hawaii, the plants flowers survived the trip and even my husband was impressed by how they wre packed. I've also had stuff shipped from NJ and while I guess the shipping was ok, the plants were eh at best.

I'm in Central PA near harrisburg. Im disappointed i cant go to longwood gardens for the orchid show! I heard about it a few weeks ago but I have to go to NY that weekend :-(. I DID go to the Philadelphia international flower show the other weekend and the orchids there were absolutely GORGEOUS. They seemed to have a lot of good vendors and the prize winning ones were stunning. Definitely want to go again next year!

Do you guys know of a good place to buy cymbidiums? I've been having a hard time finding a place online that sells them and actually shows a picture of what they look like.

I'm like you . We don't have any place around here to buy orchids except maybe the groc store. I have bought a lot off ebay. BarDavo orchids have really nice orchids. Also Kawamoto. I usually order just one to see what kind of quality and how good they pack them. If they are good I have a list of who is good and who isn't . Linda
