Yes, it is the liquid soap for dishes. I'd try to find a brand that is un-scented.

Thank you for all your help.
Someone told me the stem is too long, and that I should cut it. But all the live roots are at the end of the stem, so if I did that, I'd have to use its aerial roots instead...
Is this correct, or should I just keep it how it is and do the bag/shade/heat thing?
IF I should cut it, couldn't I keep the bottom part of it planted and maybe get keikis??
Thank you!

Don't cut it...just pot your plant and give it time to grow.
Keikis will grow from the base of the plant or from the flower stem.

So I should be fine without cutting it? I'm relieved, I was worried about that!

Mount it without medium and put on a dry side for 2 days?? what do you mean?

I don't have fungicide or rooting hormone for orchids, do I need these, or will it be okay without them??

Thank you all so much for your help, it's obvious you all care for your orchids so much and understand my concern for mine, I appreciate your time so much

Mounting an orchid looks like this
http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...4&d=1248370777

Its grown on wood, no medium to allow you to over water. You can see the roots and you spray them directly. Only thing is they need to be sprayed almost on a daily basis. (I didnt do this due to my love of vacations) Dont know about the dry side?

Rooting hormone (Superthrive or KLN) I read in another thread that not all plant rooting hormones are good for orchids and seaweed ones work?? It helps them grow new roots.

Fungicide. Maybe because the plant is weakened. But I can say from experience that when I brought in a plant with a fungus problem it spread like wild fire to my plants that had over watering issues where as my plants that were fine.... never an issue. They get sprayed regularly now.

pharaoness: Let us know how your plant gets on
(Very interested as I have my own Sick Phal that I acquired )

Anyone Who Knows
As for Fungicide?
What product/brand is recommended?

I have used fungicides in the past on other plants, and was dismayed when it ended up being detrimental to the plants health. Some plants can react badly to certain fungicides, and well die along with the fungus.

As such with my sick Phal, I have not used any Fungicide or chemicals or root growth and well it's doing fine. But I can't stay that lucky forever.

So I would appreciate advice on which brand(s) of Fungicide is safest for Orchids?

Ray explains some great home remedies here:
First Rays' Home Remedies

I've had great luck with his recipe to make cinnamon/alcohol as a fungicide spray- but it won't work for internal fungi, and can desiccate the roots- I only dab cinnamon on the ends of cut roots.

As for a storebought chemical, the most common I've seen here is Physan 20, which Ray sells for pretty cheap. https://www.firstrays.com/cgi/cart/c...=255&keywords=

You're very welcome!
Ray's website is one of the best orchid resources I've found.
Other than that, I'm usually pretty handy at hunting down obscure info. Always happy to lend a hand!
