how to remove fertilizer buildup

I have only been using worm compost tea for fertilizer on my Haraella odorata's for over 2 years now, and then I only fertilize maybe once every 4 - 6 months when I think of it. I now also have a Laellia sincorana growing in hydroton. Im not too worried about the Haraella's, but how do I flush out the Laellia ? The Hydroton floats if submerged, Plus while Im asking how do you remove fertilizer salt buildup from wood mounts ? I probably should be occasionally using more than the compost tea, but am concerend on how to remove salt buildup.
