If so does it help? Could it hurt to use it?

I am currently using MSU at 150ppm. Would u use this product in conjunction with MSU? Or could you use it without any negative repercussions?

I have catts, phals, oncidiums, miltonia, tolumnia, haraella and paphs etc with 3 of my plants in S/H.

thoughts? Suggestions?

I don't have experience using it with orchids, but hubby and I used it last year on our container vegetable garden outdoors last year with good results. I don't know how it would do with orchids, but I can tell you that it does have a definite odor and I don't know that I would want to use it with houseplants for that reason. Though, the concentration for orchids would likely be less than with outdoor vegetables.

Hi Katie, I have used seaweed consentrate in SA on orchids. Quite a few people here use it. When I use it I also dlute it to a 1/4 strength, weakly, weekly. I was told not to use it on Catts, and not on flowering plants. But when I use it I also alternate with orchid food, in case it is lacking in anything. I don't know if I will cary on using it though. I did a trial last year using only it, and thought I had less flowers. A different brand to what you get though.

You would use it as a replacement for the MSU fertilizer, not as an addition.

At 2-3-1, you would need 6-3/4 teaspoons per gallon for the same 150 ppm N. Expensive and adds nothing.

Seaweed has an important auxin, cytokinins, that is my main reason for using it. As said above use in replacement of the fertilizer not an addition, because there is no way to really know (for us that are not chemists) which will become a catalyst to the other. Do it when your plants are in heavy growth stages.

Ive had great success in using this to revive plants that Ive bought that had no roots. Not this specific brand, but seaweed in general.

Think about how quickly kelp can grow, the hormones responsible for such rapid growth given to plants offers the same potential.
