My repotted phal

Hi there, i've repotted my phal today and would like to share some pics to see if i've done it right.

My orchid mix that i used was medium and small grade douglas fir bark sponge rock and foam which i soaked over night, and some new air cone 12cm phalaenopsis pots.

I have also used some orchid focus feed, thanku to Peter White of Orchids by Peter White for the help.

I was watching a video on another site from an Orchid expert. She said if you gently put a hand underneath the lower leaf on each side and life upwards a few inches, then if the orchid and pot come up together the media is packed firmly enough. If the orchid comes out then it's not tight enough. I do this when I repot and it has never harmed an orchid.

I think your media looks well packed though, looks like a good job. Your Phal looks very healthy, especially that shade of green.

So far so good. I also check my potting efforts by trying to lift the plant and pot (only plastic pots) to check if the plant if situated securely.

I've watched that very same video where the woman pots a phal and does the lift test, i'm not sure i could do that quite the same as my phal has taken a more flat position and sits on the side of the pot, so i repotted her in the same way, i'm sure i could if the phal was in the center of the pot, but it does feel packed ok.

This is a picture of my repotted phal when i first had it, i would like to know what the proper name is for this type is, do and of the experts know?
