Hi there,

A friend of mine brought me an orchid for easter last year and she brought her mom one too, mine is doing great and i'm in the process of repotting her, but i can't say the same about her mom's as you can see from the pictures it's has way too much water and i think it's been sitting in it too, so do you think i can save this poor phal, i have 3 phal's myself now and all are doing great.

thanku very much in advance.

Yes, it can. Looks like it has a good number of good roots. Deffinately give it a repot and remove all the dead, mushy roots.

Just leave the leaf alone. If the Phal wants to get ride of it, it will on its own.

Hi there,

Here is a repot update, i've repotted this sick phal of my friends mom, i've had to remove a couple of broke leaves, i put cinnamon on the cut joints also cleaned all the dead roots up and gave it a new pot and fresh medium and cleaned the leaves with a bit of olive oil.

Do you guys think this phal will be ok beings i had to remove a snapped leaf from the middle? it's seems to be doing ok after it's repot, i put cinnamon over the cut too. I think the leaf might of got snapped when my mate brought the phal to me in a plastic bag.

I think it will be fine. Teach your mate's mum the proper way to water and things should hopefully work out.
