Default Some pictures of my orchids and IDs please: Mendenhal or papilio

Hello,

Here are what blooming in my house.
The phal_noid_purple is the one who got me addicted in the first place. I had two strong spikes, but my boyfriend broke one of them by accident. The other spike I pierced through the stem with a clip when in was in bud(being a novice that I am). It managed to survive and is blooming.

The butterfly I just bought 2 weeks ago. I don't what kind it is.

Can anyone tell me what kind of dendrobium it is?
Thanks for looking at my pictures.

Thuy

The butterfly looks to be the same as what I have that is currently in bloom so I'm going to say it's a Psychopsis Mendenhall.

Thank you both for your reply. I heard that the Dendrobium nobile is easy to grow. About the butterfly, before I posted picture King_of_orchid_growing also thought it might be a Mendenhall since the Papilio is a species and harder to find.

Is the Mendenhall easy to grow? I am hoping to have some easy orchids because I don't want them to die before I have more experience. So far I haven't killed any one yet.

Here's a link for a culture sheet that should put you in the ballpark: http://www.orchidaceae.com/techSheets/Psychopsis.pdf
They do like to dry out between waterings and frown against frequent repotting. Have fun.
