About how long should I expect a zygopetalum flower to last once it has opened?

I'm no expert - and I suppose it may depend on the species or hybrid, but my Zygo. mackayii that I received in bud last year, the blooms lasted more than 2 months

It depends on many factors - they hybrid, the conditions it is exposed to, and how well the plant is taken care of.

I've had mine last from five weeks to two months. The last zygo spike I got lasted about six weeks. It could have lasted longer, but because I was on vacation for two weeks, it cut the life of the flowers drastically.

As far as fragrance goes, the flowers develop their scent about one to two days after opening fully. The fragrance loses strength over time.
