I seem to manage to kill my catts. so hope someone can help me here. I'd really like to change the trend. I re-potted this BLC.Chunyeah in October last year in medium grade fir bark. Just today I realized that I have a yellow leaf that is dieing. Is this from too much light? I'm growing it in my living room in a south window, in San Francisco bay area. I also have brown spots that are dry and eroding away on another leaf as well.

Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure why the leaf turned yellow. But I would be more concerned with watering. The wrinkly pseudobulbs are an indication that the plant is dehydrated. Check the roots. If you only have a few viable roots, I would pot it in sphag until you get longer and more roots and then pot it in your medium of choice. Misting a couple times a day may help also.

Thumbs up

when growing in a south window it's important to remember the sun change's in the sky per season. IN the winter month's the sun is very low in the southern sky , when the sun go's through the glass it intensify's in heat , resulting in sun burn & heat stress. Each new growth should be larger than the last & it's super important to repot only when a new growth is makeing new roots . your orchid's would love to spend the summer out door's in your area from about mother's day to halloween. Out door's you can grow in less light & get more foot candle power. Good luck, keep at it, & remember " an orchid expert is some one who's killed a thousand orchid's "::
