Default Repot Paph Pinocchio

I bought a Paph Pinocchio at the end of Aug 09, with its first flower. It seems to develop a new bud about every 6 weeks. From what I have read, Paph's need to be repotted once a year. Do the multi-florals also get repotted every year? If so, for how long will the Paph Pinocchio continue flowering? Will the flowering stem have to be removed if it is still on the plant when it is time to repot?

Paphs are best repotted annually. Cochlopetalums like Pinocchio can bloom continuously, and I don't bother removing the spikes when I repot. The biggest damage that is done to a spike during repotting is done while it's developing. If a spike is in bloom already it's usually not a big deal. An individual Pinocchio spike can be in bloom for a year, so you might be waiting a while for it to finish blooming, and by that time it may be sending up a new one. I say, just go for it!

If a plant needs repotting; i.e. it is rotting or has something wrong with it, repotting should be done immediately. Otherwise, regular repotting is best done either in the spring or fall, preferably in the spring, just as the plants are starting to grow actively. Repotting should not be done in the heat of the summer or the dead of winter unless it is absolutely necessary.
