Home Depot has a two for one Orchid coupon for garden club members. I just picked up two Dens. that are grown in wood in a plastic pot.. Should I leave them in wood when I repot or should I seperate the roots from the wood. I guess I could wait for the wood to decompose but that may not be good. What is the best way to proceed?
I think it may be coconut husk and lasts forever comapred to wood.
I started by buying a few of those and the one that was potted in a coconut husk is the one that is definitely doing best growing better and more roots and canes
I grow my orchids outside in the warmer 6 months of coastal North Carolina. I found that the dens did great the first summer. The second year not so good. By then the coconut husks had become soft and soggy, holding too much water.
