Vandas, Better wet or dry and warm?
The weather forcast for the next 7 days is for sunrise temps. mid to high 40s. I have 20 Vandas. Is it better to:
1. Leave the Vandas outside and water them each day.
2. Bring them inside and let them stay dry for 7 days.
3. Bring them in and when the daytime temp goes above 50 take them out and water them and then bring them in for the night.
Thanks for your advise.

I'd bring them inside and dunk them 1x a day for 10 min a piece - is this possible for you?

It is possible to take them out for a watering then bring them back in when they dry out. How long can Vandas stay dry?

The temperature is too low for most Vandas. Unless you've got the cooler growing Vandas, 40 F will outright kill them.
I also don't recommend growing them dry.

I live in Jamaica, very hot and sunny. I have 3 terete vandas and 1 mokara. I leave them out in the sun all day. I have 2 terete vands currently spiking and the mokara is also blooming.
However the mokara's leaves have started to change from light green to a greenish yellowish color. Is this too much light for the Mok. even if its blooming?

Wevans, It does sound like your Mokara needs a little more shade.

Thank you will try to find a shady spot for it, but will the leaves turn back to their normal color once they get less light? How much hours of sun per day do you recommend for Moks?

Just try to shade it some from midday sun. As far as turing back to a lighter green it depends on how badly sunburned they are.

i have about 20+ vandas and in Orlando... the weather has been terribly cold so i have my vandas on a clothes rack so i can cart them in and out of the house.... not sure if this is a possibility for you but i would def bring them in and try to get them watered once a day...
not the fanciest set up but it seems to work!

Your vanda rack looks great. Does it have a tendency to tip easily? How wide and high is it? What is the length of the feet (base), and what size pipe did you use?
I could use one like that in my garage when I want to spray my Vanda plants. I grow in my basement and don't like to spray inside my home.
