Not too much concern. Any open wounds could help a disease to set it. It would be benifical to apply a fungicide and to try to keep the pseudobulbs as dry as possible until a callus has formed.

i would just put up a frame of some type with clear plastic so you can control the watering not Gae. My paphiopedlium sanderianum got real deep pitted leaves from to much rain.
