Yes it is very good for checking hyrbids and parentage. I think you underestimate it's value for species and growing them. I think it's a great tool for using with species and hybrids.

What an interesting thread!

Is the glass half-empty of half-full?

I've really enjoyed all the varying posts and all the different reasons for them...isn't it cool? They all make some sort of sense!

I personally can't imagine not having Orchidwiz and that was my instant reaction to working with the program. I have a large collection and I usually (as in never ) bring home just one chid at a time

I love having all of that species info at my fingertips...and by having access to the species info I can then get an idea of what might be expected from any hybrids

Whatever the reason...and I have absolutely NO personal stake in the program or the company...this program is a must-have for anybody with a large collection. I think it is a really beneficial program to have IF your personal resources allow for the expense.

The information in Orchidwiz is always available here on Orchidboard

All it takes is asking the question in our forums and one of us...or six ...will help you

Maybe just because i don't grow a lot of species i don't use it much for species... it is great though with what information it has it is very well laid out and fairly comprehensive.
