Burnham Nurseries have come all the way from Devon to a show up here in the north west, where I managed to pick up a couple of very young plants - Oncidium ornithorhyncum and Phragmipedium Nicholle Tower. They're young, so I'm praying that I haven't overestimated my ability to care for them, but they gave me lots of advice, so finger crossed!
I also got chatting to some members of a local orchid society - it was a real novelty to talk about orchids with people who don't think I'm completely nuts!
Taking my Grandma to it tomorrow. I've got my eye on a Phal. Mini Mark!
Nice plants, they look healthy! The Onc ornithorhyncum may not be as young as you think. I wouldn't be surprised if it blooms off the next new bulb it makes. I have a Miltonidium Rosy Sunset which has ornithorhyncum as a parent. I got it as a single bulb plant like yours, and it started a new growth which put out 2 spikes as soon as the bulb was mature.
I hope you get a Mini Mark, it's an amazing little Phal! Every time mine blooms I get multiple spikes. This year it has 3 gorgeous spikes!
