Good point. I bought a dendrobie a couple of months ago and it proceeded to drop all its leaves, looked like a green stick protruding from bark. I held onto it thinking the cane still contained plenty of nutrients and sure enough, last week four or five little green buds emerged from the nodes higher up the cane. Doing a little research, it turns out they might be keikis. Would be great to get a few new babies from one sick, clearance rack orchid..
