it could always develop keikis or new canes. prob better not too water just mist. Maybe put a clear veggie bag around the pot to make a mini green house and keep humidity high. just leave some opening for air circulation.
I find that keeping the plant as stable as possible helps too. Until it starts putting out new roots you may find it helpful to tie it to a stake or use a tie of some sort that will anchor the plant in the pot and keep it from lifting out.

i thought about that to create the greenhouse effect- so just around the pot and the bottom of the plant?
I don't have a clear bag that will encase the entire plant.
Can I plant this in a empty pop bottle with the top cut off, and drain holes cut in it for the photosynthesis thing since the plant store didn't have any clear pots?
you can actually cut the bottom of a 2 l soda bottle and use it as a mini greenhouse - it really helps -
but wonder if the canes of your dendrobium are too tall for that.
you can just g to the supermarket and get those clear bags where you put your hand picked veggies!
you have to be careful about fungus though.
you probably need to not water the medium much. probably mist once ina while and new growth will happen
maybe take te bag off every day to exchange the air.
easier if you but the bottom of the pot inside the bag and tie it close with a rubber band but i would leave it a bit open
