I generally recommend a steady feeding regimen of about 125 ppm N for folks growing in the home, or even greenhouses this far north.
This is Cymbidium Nut 'First Rays Red' with 6.5 spikes (I broke the one getting it out of the greenhouse yesterday). It is in a 8" S/H pot, and has been fed regularly at the 125 ppm N concentration with MSU RO formula - 13-3-15-8Ca-2Mg. (It has apparently stayed wet, too. Look at the algae on the leaves!)

Now those are some nice spikes! I got 1 single spike with about 5-6 blooms. I do see possibly 1 or 2 more potential spikes coming but it seems weak. Since temp and light appear to be good enough to induce spiking I feel like I'm close but not providing something quite right. Same with some phals...so thats why I was questioning my nutrition.

The tip of the tallest spike on the left is 52" above the table top, so roughly 44" long.

Stefano;
He grows that plant in his greenhouse.

What do you mean by "weak" spikes?

By weak I mean weak, short, not big, or as long as they have been in the past.

I've always been of the opinion that you can improve your spike and flower production by your overall culture rather than fertilizer. Studies have proven that "bloom boosters" do little to improve in this area. To improve spike production in cymbidiums, make sure they are getting as much light as possible. I grew them outdoors in California and used 50% shade cloth with excellent results. Used a slow release, balanced fertilizer such as 13-13-13. Also make sure they are getting plenty of water during the crucial summer months.
