Default Amelia Earhart Cymbidium Orchid

Recently, I purchased the Amelia Earhart Cymbidium Orchid at an orchid show in PA. I could not get any care info on it at the time. Is anyone familiar with this particular Cym? If you are, please let me know more about its care. I have tried to research this particular Cym online, but haven't been able to get anything on the growing conditions it requires. Also, does anyone know if this is a smaller or larger variety of Cym? Any info would be appreciated!

There's a reason why you couldn't find diddly on this particular hybrid.

It's because the culture for Cymbidium hybrids have been lumped into one general group of cultivational requirements.

Basically it goes with the saying: "If you've grown one Cymbidium hybrid, you've grown them all." Whether this is true or not, is a whole different story.

If you're talking about species, that's a whole different ball game. Here, you can do a search on the specific species and find something about it that may be different from another Cym species.

There is a Cymbidium Amelia - there is no registered hybrid of Amelia Earhart - so if that is your plant, it should get very bright, cool conditions.

Who did you buy it from? Sometimes knowing something about the vendor and his/her growing conditions can be a help.

I made the purchase at the Susquehanna Orchid Show in Lancaster, PA from a club member. He was not present at the time I was there and his plants were being sold by another member who knew nothing about them. It is a small plant at this point and not in spike. I dod not know anything specific about it but was hoping to learn more. Thanks to anyone who can help!
