Just wanted to say Thank You!
Default Just wanted to say Thank You!

Back in the Spring I was conducting a life saving operation on a little phalaenopsis that came to me from a friend. I couldn't figure out why it was rapidly dying. So I registered on here and got some wonderful advice from some members. I re-potted the plant after I trimmed all the dead and rotting parts of the root system. Here is what it looked like before:

And with help from everyone, this is what it looks like now!

So thanks to everyone who helped, I can't wait to see what the blooms on this special phal will look like :-)
Happy Holidays everyone,
Amy

Hi Amy, great to see it does well now. Does it have a double crown?

Hmmm, how to explain? Maybe with another question :-)

Does it grow leafs from two different points? Or what could lead to the same conclusion; did it develop a 'young' plant at the base of the plant/stem from the original plant?

If it grows leafs from both growths it's very good :-)
It means a larger plant, more flowers :-)

But... do I see there a third set of leafs (very small) on the right?

Not that this is bad if it's the case...

Sometimes plants do this as a way to survive (for instance when 1 crown can't grow new leafs anymore).

Yes, there is a third set of leaves on the right, two of them growing out of the base of the main crown. I did notice the the larger leaves on the main crown (one in particular that is missing a tip where my cat knocked the pot over and it snapped off) were starting to look a little bit unhealthy. Wondering if I should cut it off? I don't like to cut, I'm scared I will do it wrong and kill my plant ;-)
Thanks!
Amy

Great save!

Don't cut the leaves even if they look a little damaged on the end.
