What does "HCC/AOS, S/CSA" mean?
Hi!
Some of the Cymbidium orchid names come followed by "HCC/AOS", "HCC/AOS, S/CSA", or "FCC/RHS".
What do these letters mean?
Thanks,
Rodrigo

These are abbreviations for awards. For the three you mentioned:
HCC/AOS means that the clone received a Highly Commended Certificate from the American Orchid Society.
S/CSA means the clone received a sliver medal from the Cymbidium Society of America.
FCC/RHS means the clone recieved a First Class Certificate from the Royal Horticultural Society (in the UK).
Every major orchid society has a judging system, and awards exceptional plants. A clone that is awarded keeps the award as part of its name forever. For example, Paph. Winston Churchill 'Indomitable' FCC/AOS is an awarded clone of that hybrid. Its award stays with it.
The AOS has a number of awards besides the HCC, including the FCC (same as with the RHS), the AM (Award of Merit), and others. The FCC is the highest award you can get in either the AOS or RHS system.
There are other orchid societies that judge as well, such as JOGA (Japanese Orchid Growers' Association) and TPS (Taiwan Paphiopedilum Society). You'll encounter tons of awards as your orchid journey unfolds.

Those are the awards that have been awarded to that particular cultivar. For example Cymbidium Tiger Moth 'Exclamation Point' AM/AOS, 'Exclamation Point' is the cultivar name, and AM/AOS is the award abbreviation for Award of Merit, granted by the American Orchid Society (AOS). They have many different awards, FCC is First Class Certificate the highest award possible. Cant recall all the different awards anymore, but I think HCC is Highly Commended Certificate. These awards can also be granted by other Orchid Society's as well, like RHS is the Royal Horticultural Society. Hope this helps, some other members of the board will probably emember the other award names and abbreviations.
Looks like King and Slipperfreak beat me to this one, took too long to type...

SM/VOGA???
Here's one that has me (and google) totally stumped:
Phal. pantherina (pantherina ' Chiba' x pantherina 'Chin ' SM/VOGA)
Obviously the SM is silver medal, but who is VOGA? Or is this maybe a typo for JOGA (Japan Orchid Growers Association)?
