Default Phal Spike Question

When watering, I check for new growth on all my orchids. But, I got a shocking, very pleasant surprise...I have a spike growing on one of my phals, but it presents a problem. It's growing out wedged between two leaves. There doesn't appear to be any way to stake it w/o it breaking. Should I just "let it be"?

YES, just let it be! You can pretty much, dictate the way in which you want it to grow by turning it every week towards the light then, away from the light. This will help straighten it somewhat and also, help it grow upwards. The spike will continue growing upwards until it reaches away from the plant, at which time you'll be able to stake it.

P.S. Congratulations!

Sandy...Thanks for the advice...it's appreciated. Rotation, here I come.

Yes, I'm thrilled. I have 9 plants...2 bought while blooming...some have new leaves or roots, but this spike made me do a happy dance! And, it's definitely a spike.
