Question Please help ID my latest sticky pot orchid

I went to my favorite nursery yesterday for sunflower seeds for the birds, and also came home with two orchids. Classic case of sticky pot syndrome—orchids always follow me home One was a Sharry Baby, but the other one was missing its tag so I’m not sure what it is. It was 50% off because it is near finished flowering so I figure it needed a rescue. I’m thinking it might be a Miltonia I’m attaching pictures, could someone please ID it for me? I want to make sure I give it the proper care it deserves. I also noticed it has some newer growth that are floppy and yellow; and it also has some black marks on this growth, the spots seem to be in the leaves—they don’t come off and are not bumpy or anything like that. I wasn’t overly concerned because it does have a tiny new growth that seems quite healthy. Can anyone please tell me why this is happening and if there is something I can do to make it better?

Next week I have to go to the pet store to buy crickets for my tarantula—wonder what else I’ll come home with

Thanks in advance for your help!

Looks like some type of oncidium but there are so many of them out there it would be hard to ID. Could be turning yellow because it's losing it roots so maybe it would be a good idea to pull it out of the pot and check them What is it potted in? A very pretty bloom!

I also tried my best to ID your Billy Joel music but couldn't quite make it out!

looks like some sort of Oncidium intergeneric. It looks fairly distinctive, so hopefully somebody will be able to give an exact ID. the black marks and floppy leaves on the new growth could be a sign of cold damage, but definately check on the roots. many store bought orchids have their roots wrapped in sphag underneath the bark, which may retain more water than you expect, and cause the roots to rot.

Shirly, the music is "Piano Man"

omg! I love it! - the yellowing leaf is on an older pbulb, so may just be it's time to lose it. (Unless I am looking at the wrong one)

Your plant looks fine. This is the advantage of buying from a nursery rather than a big box store that does not care.

The potting medium looks excellent and should not need to be changed for a year or two.

The black spots are typical of orchids in the Oncidium alliance. Your Sharry Baby will develop more than you see on this one. It is a characteristic of the family and relatively harmless to the plant.

You have be pseudo-bulbs forming and this is the best sign of health.

I raise thousands of Oncidium Inter-generics and see tens of thousands more but have never seen this pattern.

It may be a newer unregistered cross. Since the color does not have a distinct pattern, which is currently considered desirable among growers it, may never be registered or reproduced. That does not make it any less beautiful to you.

It's beautiful, never seen it on pictures, also not on forums in Europe. If I see the same and the pot isn't sticky I make sure my fingers are heh.
Nice catch!

Judging from the shape of the flower, I'm pretty confident that there is miltoniopsis/miltonia somewhere in its heritage. I've never seen this hybrid before, though.

Thanks for all the responses and compliments I think the flowers will fall soon so I'm going to wait to repot until then--I think the nursery I got it from buys from reputable sources. I was eying this plant a couple of weeks ago, maybe I should have bought it then when it still had the tag But I do love the flower and I think I will treat it like my Miltonium--hopefully I can get it to rebloom.

I just found out that this is a Miltonium Esoteric 'Martian'. So is it a Miltonia/Oncidium cross? The nursery had some new chids with tags still in tact and I was able to id the chid. The tag also states there is a patent process initiated. There is a number R565 on the tag. What does the number signify--is it the patent number?
