Default Princess Mikasa dropped all leaves

I'm new here, and also to orchids - got my first about 9 months ago.

Among the beginning orchids was a Princess Mikasa, Blue. It's in a slatted wood container with coarse cork. It has been doing well, bloomed in late spring.

I water it weekly and mist between, light fertilize bi-weekly.

Within the past couple weeks it suddenly dropped all its leaves. What might have caused it?

If I leave it and continue watering is it possible it will eventually send up a new stem and leaves?
Should I cut off the existing stem or just pitch the whole thing?

Calvin did you happen to leave the plant on the cold outside by any chance or exposed to temperatures in the low 40s to high 30s??? If so your plant might have not survived the cold. If however there are at least 2 or 3 leaves on the top just bring it inside and see if a new leaf starts develping from the top center aka apex and if so it might survive. By the way; to the Orchid Board

Rolando, no - even though I'm up here in Canada - I didn't have this one outside other than to water in summer when the temperatures were quite warm.
It has lost 'all' the leaves.

You have starved your plant with lack of water. Vandaceous orchids need a great deal of water. Heavy watering daily is required. Once a week will just not do it.

were the leaves wrinkled before they dropped? once a week seems nothing - I try to water almost daily and mist the roots often.
At the Botanic Garden here the Vandas get misted every few hours and the room is really humid that my camera lens sometimes gets fogged.

The leaves looked quite healthy and within a couple days all leaves dropped. The root system is still green, with continued watering might the plant produce new leaves or should I get rid of the plant?
