Depending on how much humidity it's receiving and the temps, will dictate how fast it will grow and how long before you can separate it, usually around 4 months, average. You can also choose to keep it on the stem indefinitely. If you want to pot this plant, wait till you've got at least 3 roots, at least 3-4 inches long, first.
