Beautiful phal and nice healthy roots! Looks like it will be ok in that pot to me.
Was the orchid that died on you potted in sphagnum moss? I think plants potted in sphag can get overwatered by beginners and the roots rot and get mushy.
Always watch out for overwatering. Probably water every 5 days in your bark.
Oh nvm I see you started another thread for your other plant...
Also remember to give it enough light. Some people put them quite a distance away from the window, and they wither.
Looks pretty good in that pot. A lot of healthy roots benefiting from photosynthesis thru the translucent / clear pot. At least wait till its done blooming. If the bark mix looks like its compacting and breaking down, you could then replace the bark mix. if you can find another clear pot just a hair bigger, that would be good when the time comes
What a great looking phal....looks happy to me, color is great, blooms are beautiful and no blast...yep you did good. Phal's like to be pot bound and what nosy little buggers those roots are...if and when you do repot, which if it was me I would wait until after next blooming, duplicate what you have; clear pot, coarse fir bark, one step up in size (just a hair ) and you will have it blooming over and over. Enjoy...
Lol thanks guys!! Im glad i got a healthy plant I was woried because the roots were coming out of the pot lol. Since i have never seen one of are orchids make it to bloming twice i hope ill get to repot it!
Just a thought, those roots are coming out the drainage holes on the bottom of the pot, suggestively if you place this little guy in a saucer with pebbles or merely a saucer make sure when you do water this gem do not allow those roots to set in the drained water.
