It completely depends on the phal, at least in my experience. On average (for me) a bloom stays good about 3-4 month. The shortest was 6 weeks. The longest a phal has kept the same blooms was 9 months, for a yellow NOID I have that has quite thick petals. Right now I have a phal in bloom that started early december '08. Each bloom lasts 4 months, but the spike continuously puts out more, and is still doing that right now! And it's also growing a new spike, new roots, new leaves. Awesome phal!
As all the phals are grown the same way, there is obviously something in their genetics causing the variability.
