King and Undergrounder - total respect to you guys and while I can't claim to fully get the science behind it all I'm appreciating 2 things:

1. There's no harm in trying, and if you're not in it you can't win it
2. The odds are against so don't get carried away on an expensive rescue mission (don't want to break the heart as well as the bank)

I think I can take all advice on board and leave it where it is - semi mounted on a somewhat inadequate piece of driftwood that arrived in the mail (note to self - check how small it is before ordering) with some moss, and no harm done if the lights go out.

Sound good?

B amateur - I only went away for a night to see Pink in concert!!

LOL yes this thread is funny to read...

The driftwood is invaluable stuff to mount orchids on, so even if the octopus of roots doesn't work you can use it on something else!

Isn't it though!

Healthy debate is good too! A lot of thought went into some of the posts in this thread which is really fab, irrespective of the outcome.

BIG thanks!
