Default Help with Brassia Arcuigera Longissima

Went to a great orchid show on the weekend and came home with 4 new orchids! One is a little Brassia in a 3" square pot. Looks like it need repotting. The plant is pushed up quite high out of the pot and has lots of roots sticking out! Lots of new growth too! My question is how large of a pot should I put this guy into? Also, is regular orchid bark mix okay to plant him in? It looks like he is in a much finer mix than that now. Also looks like there is moss mixed in with the mix. Thanks in advance for any help!

You can use a medium to fine orchid mix cause it likes to breath alot. Don't go for a pot that's to big cause then you'll need to water it more. If it's really popping out which it likes to do you can go for a 4 or 5 inch pot but make sure that's it's stll tight in the pot and not loose fiting. You should repot ASAP cause this is the best time (March to April) otherwise you might damage the new growths.
My book says that you should water it as soon as half of the mix is dry and that they fragile to light and can burn easily.
I got mine about two years ago and when I repoted it this year I ended up with two, I has a southern exposure but filtered light and seems to be doing alright.

When the plant is outgrowing the pot or when the medium is breaking down and holding too much moisture then it is time to repot. Use medium bark making sure the plant is positioned in the pot so that the newest growth is farthest away from the edge of the pot, allowing room for growth. I would only go up one pot size. So a 4 inch pot is best.
