Looking for a reference book (light, water, temp requirements) in condensed form
What I really want is a cheat sheet for as many orchids as possble. With just those basic bits of info. All in one handy format. I get tired of running back inside to the computer to look something up or pulling out a big book. My memory is not so good anymore. I am trying to rearrange all my kids into their "happy place" in the shade house. Seems like someone is always unhappy with their assigned spot! Any of you know of a book like this? Suggestions? Thanks!
I bought two books recently that are great and both small and compact....
Growing orchids - successful gardening indoors and out
by brian & wilma rittershausen
-this book is hte bigger of the two but still compact and light weight..i like it because it has a great encyclopedia that tells everything i need to know about each plant
the other is The orchid specialist by david squire
-this one is small but i love the straight forwardness of this book and it has great step by step instructions for everything ie mounting repotting building display stands, right compost mix ect. it also has a little orchid a-z section with some more specific needs but i dont find it as informative as the on in the other book.
hope this helps.
Thanks, Jen. I have the "Orchid Specialist" but it doesn't mention anything about light. I have a couple of books by the Rittershausens, but not the one you mentioned. I will look for it! Thanks again!
