Do angreacums make Keikis?

I have a Magdalenae, and there appears to be a teeny tiny growth at the base of her. So I'm assuming that this would be a keiki, unless agreacums also put out just new growth.





(She looks a little wet, but that is because I had just gotten done watering her, when I thought I would take her pic)

Well seeing as angreacums is in the vanda tribe I would say it is a keiki so congratulations on the new born

Not a keiki. It is a new shoot. Many (if not most) Angraecoides put out new growths at the base, along the stems, etc. A Keiki would generally be a descrite plant with its own roots. I think you'll find this will develop as a side shoot.

magdalenae grow in colonies on rocks in the plateau region of madagascar. one plant can produce quite a few basal growths. this is a good thing!

I was just surprised, since the "original" plant is rather small itself!

I have a magdalenae with two basal shoots and it is quite a small plant too - only about 20cm high...

I'm really enjoying watching it grow.
