Talking Phal lobbii in bloom
I bought this little guy at the last Orchid sale at Van Dusen in Vancouver. The vendor is Forestview Orchids. I was away on vacation last week and while I was gone, this little cutie sprang out! Just goes to show that a watched 'chid never blooms.

Great flower! Nice camera angle, too!

Hehe, I've never seen one of these from this angle. Jax, you see a smiley face, but I see an evil face! The two slits near the top of the column are eyes, the two round, dark spots are dimples or beauty marks or something, the "smile" looks sharply toothed and evil to me, and if you look at the lip, it looks like two little white mittens are holding the corners and there's a big chunk bitten out of it right below that evil smile!

Hmmm, I wonder if what we see in an orchid is a reflection on our own personalities, kinda like ink blots?
