Default I told myself i wasent going to buy any orchids

So i almost dident!

there a table full of "if you want them, take them" orchids, all kinds, i even grabbed a species orchid! i grabbed four free orchids all together, one was a mountonus oncidium that iam am suspicous about the name, one gargantuan catt (to my eyes) and two other catts. all need a bit of tlc and some repotting

First up we have my noname, on it is written "big fragrant plant" iam hoping by the pigment in the leaves it will be dark (to repot or not to repot? since it has sheiths and will soon flower?)

Next we have Skinnari Alba? once again, its hard to read it off the side of the pot. new growth already forming, lots of viable roots

Next up is my species catt, ...trian...something its hard to read on the side haha put every there told me it was a species plant.
notice the three new growths and lots of viable roots!

and next is my monstrosity of a oncidum. wich needs to be divided three times maybe four, iam not sure if it is a sphacelatum, they were saying that one grows very tall and this looks like its as tall as it gets

and last but not least, the only one i paid for is my little onc sweet suger, growing in its own little plastic cup!! the grower said he grows alot like this, sortof a semi hydroponic way, its got new roots, and new shoots so it must like it

what do you guys think?

So how's that not buying any orchids working out for your?

Looks like you have some major repotting to do!

Your species Catt is most likely C. trianea. There are several varieties of this species so we won't know which one it is until it blooms. You could end up with anything from pink to lavendar to white. You'll just have to wait and see!

Nice haul, Keltera! I'm sure that after some TLC they'll be great. Looking forward to pics of your blooms.

Great score, but looks like you have some work to do!! Hope I never get to the point where it's sooooo out of control that my plants look like that!!! Like you said though a little TLC and they will bounce right back for you and pay you back for adopting them. Good luck and look forward to seeing your flowers.

So I got them all repotted and split the ones that needed split, the onc I was able to split alot more, makeing some little wee ones as gifts to give family and friends, i am trying the method In the first post with my sweet suger with the small little ones. The huge Catt unfortunetly lost a new growth with a sheith it snapped when I was trying to tie them up nut atleast the eyes are still there so it can grow more

Congrats on repotting them all - i would no way have been able to resist taking a few neglected orchids home either, its such a shame that they got into that condition really isnt it!
Would love to see pics when they have had your TLC, bet it would be a considerable differnce!
All the best for you and your orchids
