Default PrimeAgra question

I have been growing a dendrobium and a catt in primeagra for a little over a year now, not S/H, but in a clay pot in primeagra. I can easily say that these are my two best performing orchids. I have not had any problems yet, but my concern is the possibility of salt build up in the medium over the long term. I water with well water, and although I have never had it tested, I have read that most well water is fairly high in salts, so I assume mine is as well.

I have also read someplace that leaching is not really effective at getting rid of the salt buildup. My question is - is there a way to control the salt buildup, other than getting an R/O system?

All materials that absorb solutions, then lose the water to evaporation will build up minerals over time. PrimeAgra is no exception.

If your water is heavily mineral-laden, flushing with more of it doesn't do much.

I would recommend getting a water analysis to see where you are, before investing in an RO system (How about that? And I even sell them!)

Yes, I need to have my water tested. I have not had any problems with salt buildup yet and don't really want to mess with an R/O system if it's not necessary (and actually, I don't even know what that involves). Maybe it's not as complicated as I think. If I do decide to get one, I'll definitely give yours a look. Thanks!
