Default New growths on my Burr. Nelly Isler.

Evening all,

I was misting my Burr. Nelly Isler this morning and noticed 3 new growths. I recently had a bit of a drama about the wrinkles in the p. bulbs (thanks to everyone for all the helpful advice ) so haven't been expecting anything new, although the flowers on the existing spike seem to be lasting better then on the first spike, and continue to send out various scents at different times of day.
I thought that before I start celebrating I'd better check I have something to celebrate and I'm not witnessing the death-throws of an orchid desperately trying to tell me to do something different... the new shoots aren't where I would expect them, but then I'm used to phals.
Any and all advice will be gratefully received!
Huge thanks in advance!
Nicky

They look good to me! Oncidiums send up new growth from base of pbulb and they frequently come up 'inside' the bract foliage as yours are doing - its all good!

Sorry for the double post - thought it might be helpful if I added a picture that wasn't so upclose and personal... There are 3 of these new shoots - 2 on one bulb, 1 on another.

I'm really glad for you! The swiss beauty was my first and is still my favourite
I also had a lot of new growth (right after it bloomed) but I probably failed to water enough, so my advice is to water slightly more often when you notice that the NEW leaves are growing wrinkly. The wrinkles will not grow out...

With the new growth, Nelly has tripled in size Right now I'm tring to figure out how to get it to rebloom , because the red, scented blooms were the most beautiful I have seen so far...

(I'll post some 'wrinkly' pictures aswell, somewhat "don't try this at home" thing ... you can see them best on the repotting pictures)

Hope I could help

Thanks for the info, I'll keep it firmly in mind particularly now the heating is on!

I've read somewhere that the leaves wrinkle when it hasn't had enough humidity... have you read anything about that?

I'd love to hear how you get on with reblooming!

Mine still has a spike in bloom, although there are only half a dozen or so left.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience... I'm a sponge these days!
