The single most expensive $150 has been a division of an awarded Ctsm. Frilly Doris "SVO II" AM/AOS. My wife fell in love with the picture in Orchids magazine and I got it for her for her birthday.

My husband buys me orchids all the time...he's just not always aware of it

As for the price question, my most expensive chid so far is my V David Gardner 'Za Inat' which I asked Martin Motes to hand-choose for me. It's a big dark purple beauty that blooms twice a year sometimes with 3 spikes!

Interesting thread. Around here you can drop $30 to $40 at the grocery store or garden center for a good looking but often unidentified Phal. The most I spent was $45 for a division (actually 2 fans in 1 pot) of an awarded Paph Norito Hasegawa. I wish I can say it is doing well but contrary. At least no signs of irreversible death.

To this day my most expensive orchid is Phalaenopsis Miva orchidouxdingue "folie douce" a limited edition from french nursery Michel Vacherot...II spend 45 euros (around 60/65$ i guess) plus postage...the second one few euros cheaper was a laelia tenebrosa "valpota's night"...

The most I've paid so far is 100.00 for a Fredclarkea After Dark...no blooms yet.

I ahve paid 36$ for a Brassisium ( after looking at that website I think im going ot breed Catts. and become rich!)
