I recently purchased a Schomburgkia thomsoniana for $65. It is the most I have paid for an orchid to date. I had been looking for one for a while and when I found it I had to have it.
At first I was embarrassed by how much I had spent, the first thing I did was remove the price tag so no one would know how much it was.
I am glad this thread was started, at least I can see I am not alone.

You've got to figure that your time is worth a lot. If you saved yourself 10 hours of further searching, even if you only pay yourself minimum wage, you come out 10 bucks ahead
We are all just sick!

Hi everyone,
I guess the most I have ever spent for a orchid is about $20 each (on 3 different occasions) for three large cattleyas (Toyko Magic, Lavender Noid, & White/Fuschia Lip Noid). I bought them at the Sunshine flea market in Lake Wales, FL. So, my spending is really small beans compared to everyone else.

I did really well until about a year ago when I paid $50 for a division of Phrag Silver Eagle 'Pink Frost' AM/AOS.

Anywhere around $50 to $65 on various blooming sized Vandas.
It's usually hard to escape this kind of pricing for blooming sized Vandas. Occasionally I was able to find them for less, but mostly not. I can't say that there're any regrets because the ones I currently own are rare and blasted hard to find.

The most I've spent is $30 for Neofinetia falcata 'shutennu'. But I'm just a student, so my pockets aren't that deep! And I'd be too afraid of killing any super expensive plants I may get...

Wow, I really am a frugal person after all, despite what my husband thinks - the most I spent on an orchid was £18 on my Paph jackiix armeniacum at a show and just over £22 on an imported Odontoglossum 'Anna Claire' but that was two thirds on the p and p.
