Will my orchids ever bloom again?

by bloom i mean flower i dont know if thats the same thing...
My oldest I've had 2 years and the 2 newest for 1. One of them I purchased at the grocery store discounted and have never seen the flowers.
I don't see flowers happening any time soon.
I would love to see them in bloom again. I use vitamins although not sure how often to use them...
what else can I do to get them to flower?

I don't know what your growing conditions are, but the most common reason for a plant not blooming is not enough light. Maybe if you could tell us more about your conditions, someone may be able to be of more help.

what do you mean "the conditions"? they get afternoon sunlight partial to direct from 3 - 6 right now because of the season.

Some Phals require a temperature drop to initiate flower spikes. If your house is heated during the winter this can stop them flowering. Here we heat during the winter days but let the temp drop at night and that is enough for Phals by the window to start spiking.

I agree with Rosie in that I would guess it's a lack of a temperature drop. From you're avatar, I would guess phals as Rosie suggested. If you dont let the temp drop overnight, you could try to put them out for a couple of nights, as long as the temps dont drop too much (someone help me with the lower temperature levels). In terms of "vitamins", I'm assuming you mean a fertilizer. A weekly week dose of balanced fertilizer (1/4-1/2 teaspoon per gallon) should generally be plenty. Hope this helps, and maybe you'll get some fall spikes!

I believe the generally accepted minimum temperature for Phals is around 55 degrees F. That's as low as they can handle before being damaged. The temperature drop to promote blooming should be about 10 to 15 degrees lower at night than the day-time high, whatever that may be for you, Myst. Though some references advise a 15 to 20 degree drop at night.

Can you post pictures? That would help everyone else to help you.
