Orchids take less benefit from foliar feeding than most plants. Don't forget that such absorption takes place through the stomata, and orchids have evolved to have fewer as a water-retention mechanism. Add to that the fact that in a phalaenopsis, they're only open at night (when the RH is higher), and you can surmise that it's really not an efficient methodology. Any benefit of foliar feeding attempts probably comes from the excess liquid dripping into the medium.

misting is intended to raise humidity (as transient as that may be). Wetting the leaves of a plant actually reduces the effect. Read this:
