A small point to be made here is that there is a difference between misting and spritzing or spraying.
Misting will be the finest spray and is the best way to give an immediate humidity boost. Here in Michigan the humidity is high enough most of the summer unless you are using air conditioning, which will dry your house air. I find that my Phals. enjoy a good shower under running the tap every once in a while. I only do it when the plant needs to be watered, though. It keeps the leaves clean. Just my opinion here: I seemed to lose (as in dead) Phals. when I misted regularly. The right light, humidity trays and proper watering brought the rewards.

Orchids take less benefit from foliar feeding than most plants. Don't forget that such absorption takes place through the stomata, and orchids have evolved to have fewer as a water-retention mechanism. Add to that the fact that in a phalaenopsis, they're only open at night (when the RH is higher), and you can surmise that it's really not an efficient methodology. Any benefit of foliar feeding attempts probably comes from the excess liquid dripping into the medium.

Besides, as Doc G said, misting is intended to raise humidity (as transient as that may be). Wetting the leaves of a plant actually reduces the effect. Read this: Evaporation
