Default How long for Blc Chia Lin 'New City' to bud?

I got this orchid in the beginning of June, and it had 2 very small (just beginning) sheaths. The sheaths are nice and big now. How long (on average) should it take to start some buds in there? Should he have started to bud by now (two months later)? Do I give up on the idea of getting any flowers for now? I'm trying to do what I can to make it happy. It's in an east window (in the brightest corner), I had been fertilizing every time I watered (twice per week) per the orchid nursery here, using their own fertilizer brand. I'm thinking of bumping up the watering schedule to every other day. Thoughts on this? I also got a little humidifier to try to bump up the humidity, but I'm not sure if it is working. Got it second hand, but it is one of those mistless humidifiers. I'm in CO, so it is rather dry, and I think that the moisture just dries up immediately. Any suggestions, as to anything else I can try? I really want him to be happy.

my l purpurata had big sheaths but no buds for a few months til I changed the location of the plant - moved it from backyard to front, where I guess the light was better for it because shortly after moving it I could see buds developing
Maybe see if you can increase the light it receives

Chia Lin flowers in November December so you have a wait yet.

Also you can get phony sheats that never develop if the plant is young and has not flowered before.

Chia Lin has large 6 inch red flowers that are very fragrant.

Large flowered Cattleya usually take longer to flower the first time than other Cattleya.

So if the flowers fail to develop it is probably not old enough.
