What Den. species is the 'typical' Singapore Orchid
Hi Everybody,
My Fiancee loves the Singapore Orchid and i'd love to get her one as a gift... I'm assuming it's a Dendrobium... but what is the particular species? Is it Den phalaenopsis?

Thanks Natasha, it's not that one... it's the one that when you go to a florist here in Oz and ask for 'singapore orchids' they give you a very typical dendrobium shaped flower. Like this:

It's a Dendrobium phalaenopsis type hybrid. Don't know the grex or cultivar name, sorry.

The "official" flower of Singapore is Vanda Miss Joaquim.

Yeah I can see his point, the official flower is the Vanda but that's not what everyone refers to as a singapore orchid, it's a type of Den like the one in his picture.
I can't remember the name either, it's a species but not a hybrid although I think the hybrids are referred to in the same way.
It's not Den biggibum is it? Not sure.
