Another phal to my collection

Hi There,

I saw some really nice orchids in tesco's today so i've brought another one, great colour and a double spike.

My first orchid is doing great i've had it for over 4 months now, it's new leaf is looking really healthy.

I've attached some new pic's of my new one.

Thought i'd add a couple of pic's of my original phal's new leaf.

One thing i would like to know, how long on average does it take a happy phal to re spike?

I also added a new phal (on sale at Lowe's) this week. It's no longer blooming, but the spike is still green (great roots!!!). So, in a very short period of time, I've now got 8 orchids...3 phal, 5 cattleyas and 1 oncidium. It's kinda like having kids...now that I have them, what do I do with them. LOL!!!

I keep getting tempted by those supermarket Phals as well. Two came from sainsburys not long ago because they were on offer (half price so I had to buy two right?)

I find Phals tend to start a new spike in cooler weather. You might have problems getting them to flower if you heat your house all night in the winter. I only heat the house in the day and the temp drop at night over the winter seems to trigger new flower spikes.

Thanku for the advice that helps a lot, the room my phal's are in would tend to be a bit cooler at night but not really cool so hope this will help.

I think i'm already hooked :-)
