Phal flower spike - cut or not to cut Female
Default Phal flower spike - cut or not to cut

I had a new phal join my home earlier this year. It is a mini (no id), but has darker green leaves, had dark purple flowers about the size of a quarter growing on a dark purple to almost black flower spike. Now that all the flowers have dropped, I am unsure if I should cut it. All of my other phal spikes turn brown all the way down, so I cut them off at the base. Since this one is so dark, how can I tell? Since there was no id, I have no idea of its breeding / background. Any advice?

Thanks, Cindy
