miniature cymbidiums

I just joined this website. I have a large and varied collection but only 1 cymbidium. (sinense) does anyone live in texas that grows them?

I don't live in Texas, but I used to import a lot of "Chinese" cymbidiums from Taiwan, where it gets pretty hot in the summer.

As long as they get frequent watering (in a very open mix) and lots of shade, many of them can tolerate the heat very well. Both Cym. sinense and ensifolium, for example, can tolerate the heat and snow!

If you want a slightly larger, more colorful hybrid, consider Cym. Golden Elf 'Sundust' HCC/AOS. It has a bright yellow flower with citrus scent, and is described as "tolerating" warmth, but I find it thrives on warmth.

Thanks for the advice...I like the shape of the species mini cymbiduims. I have been looking at andy"s orchids and they have several different types.
I am not a member of the HOS, but I am thinking about it. What is the advantage of being a member of a group?
