This is the phal that I bought the other day that was in the heavy soil (the stuff that looked a lot like potting soil). Anyway, it was washed clean of the mix it was in before and I allowed it to dry out for a day or so and also sprayed it with physan 20. I saw little evidence of some discoloration on a few roots but all of it was very minor and could have easily just been staining from the soil. So i have hopes for this one!
I was planning on putting it in some moss for the time being until I saw some new root production, making it a candidate for s/h -- but on first inspection I didn't notice anything. However, yesterday when i was potting up my Phal 'Ember', which is now throwing new roots, I looked again and discovered some new growth on Pauline... so they both went into the hydroton-- however, I have decided to water it but drain the pot so that the hydroton is moist but not sitting in any water. I want to keep strict control over water levels this time around to be sure the plant isn't staying too wet.
Anyway, here she is... i love the delicate nature of her coloring...
