I water everyday during the hot summer days. Sometimes twice a day.

During the cooler days I can water once every two days. Occassionally during the cooler months I'll water a bit more.

But I'm in the LA area, so it could be different elsewhere.

Here in the Atlanta area I water mounted Phals lightly twice a day in the summer, once a day Fall and Spring (when windows are open to natural humidity), then back to twice a day in winter when the heat is running. They do extremely well, too; my mounted orchids seem to outpace those in pots.
