Is this a spike on my Oncidium &quot;Sweet Sugar&quot;?
Question Is this a spike on my Oncidium - Sweet Sugar?
I've only had this Oncidium for roughly 12 weeks. I noticed a few weeks ago that a new growth was starting from the right side of one of its p-bulbs. It's growing rapidly. The other evening, I noticed another growth on the opposite side of the very same bulb, but this new one does not look like the other. Is this a spike?

The white growth with the yellow tip is a root.

The small shoot is well...a small shoot. A new plant if you will.
