Watering shedule for new growing dendrobium shoots Male
Default Watering shedule for new growing dendrobium shoots

My dendrobium collection was badly affected last summer due to root rot.
I later realized it was due to poor ventilation of the pots.
I have taken remedial steps, thanks to the valued members of OB and their timely and meaning guidance.
Now almost all dendrobiums have new shoots growing from the rhizome.
I will like to know what more steps should I take to see that they survive and do not wilt.
I want to know specifically if I need to water/mist them more often?
FOr the mature plants I heavily water them twice a week; once when I water them in the beginning of the week and when i fertilize them in the midweek.
It is monsoon time here and the humidity level in the air is high and it is warm.
waiting for your valued inputs and thanking you in advance,

Dev

Do nothing for now. Humidity is what's making them sprout. Mist them when it gets dryer, but sparingly (like once every other day). Wait till the roots get about 3 to 4 inches or when the shoots are mature enough to be easily remove by hand without using force (they can come off on their own).
